Masaki Hosomi, Ph. D

Masaki Hosomi is the Professor of Kansai University. After obtaining Ph. D in business administration from Osaka University, he works for Kagawa University, and moved to Kansai University in 2019. Before working in academia, he was also a local government official, working in labor administration and economic statistics. In 2025, he became a Senior Visiting Fellows in the London School of Economics and Political Science.

 

​He is a management scholar specializing in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. He is interested in work-life balance and flexible work arrangements such as remote work, maternity leave, and nursing leave; especially interested in the perceptions of supervisors and colleagues of work-life policy users. He is also interested in the positive and negative effects of positive behaviour and attitude (e.g., work engagement, job crafting) and the psychology of entrepreneurship.

 

He currently serves as the Editorial Board Member of Japanese Journal of Administrative Science. He is the Board Member of the The Japan Society of Human Resource Management (JSHRM).
